Is Cruising around Australia a good idea?

Hi everyone! I am about to go off on a trip - I am going to start university in October and want to enjoy my freedom while I still can. I think that Australia would be a lovely place to cruise around. Has anyone got experience with this? Would you do this? Do you think it is a good idea? Any comments would be great.

Sure. I have a friend that did so a couple of years ago, when he went on his gap year. He travelled all around the country, staying for six months and taking jobs wherever he could get them, such as on farms and things like that! I don't know how long you are planning to go there, but this sounds like a nice idea, doesn't it?
