| Hello! I have two schoolboys and ever since they learned about Big Bend National Park in Texas, they beg me to take them there for camping. I would gladly do it but the thing is we live in Seattle, Washington, and its quite a distance. So, is Big Bend worth the trouble or should I stick to Mt. Rainier and our local natural attractions? |

| This is a tough one, I admit! Youre miles and miles away from Big Bend and it would take you hours of flying just to get there. It would be truly exhausting, both physically and financially. But, Big Bend is one of the most beautiful natural resorts in the United States, and I think its worth trouble. Seeing Rio Grande emerging from Santa Elena Canyon, whose one wall is in Mexico and the other in the USA, is a grand experience. Then, so-called Mule Ears, two giant rocks in the middle of the desert is something spectacular. I think you should give it a try and visit Big Bend and you wont regret it. |
