Indian currency?

My husband decided to surprise me with buying tickets to India. Of course, he never thought of the hotel choice, or things like Indian currency. As usually, all that is left for me to figure out. So, what is the Indian currency? And what hotel should we pick? I dont wont some dodgy place

1 Indian rupee 0.024837 $. As for the hotel I would recommend Shangri La in New Delhi. I think you would be very satisfied with that place. It is 4 star rated hotel positioned in such a way that it only takes minutes of walking from all interesting things in the Delhi downtown. Not to mention the fact that you will be able to see the entire city from the hotel room.
