| I have recently applied to a job in London. I did not expect anything, but last week, I received a letter that offers me the position in London, starting in ten days! It left me completely unprepared and I have absolutely no idea what to expect there, where to stay, etc. If anyone could help, I cannot overstate the use it will have for me. |

| If you have never been to London, and do not know nothing about it, then there really are many pieces of information you need to gather. I can only point you in some general things you must know. First, the city is one of the most expensive in the world, but the overall quality of life is also very high. Also, eating out in restaurants can be very expensive, so, since you are not the tourist, use markets. Then, renting an apartment can really be expensive, so until you stabilize your incomes, stay in a hostel, or a motel. They are cheaper, and very satisfiable. Public transport is excellent, as well as maps, so try avoiding cabs. People there are very polite and you can always ask them if you somehow manage to get lost. This is only an outline of the many important things you must know, but I think it is enough for a beginner. |
