Hi, I will be staying in Prague during winter holidays including Christmas, accompanied by my husband and children. I'm interested in knowing how cold is it there during the winter time, especially in December. I'm asking this primarily because both my husband and younger son catch flues very easily and I want to be prepared and protected as much as possible.

Hi, from my experience with Prague's winters I would suggest that you bring along with you most of your winter apparel. December time in Prague is usually cold and wet so you will need to get yourself some footwear that could apply for that kind of weather. The temperature can get below zero degrees Celsius with an average low of minus three degrees Celsius. Try not to miss the Christmas markets that will surely fulfill you and your whole family with a special and pleasant feeling of the New Year coming. If you do experience first snow in Prague during your stay try to have as much fun possible with the locals and join the many snow games on the streets. However be careful of the slippery roads because usually many people fall due to the rain witch freezes and causes many problems on the road.
