My wife and I are traveling to Galapagos. We have a six-month old baby girl, but decided to leave her at home with her granny because she is too little for such a long trip. Maybe we could choose some shorter destination but since this is our last vacation without kids in the next 15 or 20 years, we chose Galapagos for there is so much to see there. We booked a flight to Quito and plan to stay several days in Quito and see its attractions. I’d like to visit the historic center which (I heard) took 200 million dollars for renovation.
Quito is a very interesting city and it attracts millions of tourists to come and see it. There are many aspects of the city. Volcanoes by which it is surrounded are one aspect. Historic center, a.k.a. Reliquary of American Art, is the other. I don’t know how much money was spent for renovation but it became Unesco World Heritage. It is situated on a hill and is a universe unto itself. There are many cute streets leading you to churches and monasteries. Each of the churches has its story which is very interesting. You can visit a lot of museums there as well as some theatres. There are plenty of nice squares, too.
