Hanoi and Luang Prabang trip in October

Hi! My girlfriend and I will spend most of our vacations during October in Hanoi and Luang Prabang, cities in Southeastern Asia. I saw landscapes there on official sites of those countries and I would love to photograph them. Since my girlfriend isnt so thrilled about this vacation, I would like to give her full experience of this country before we start the trip. Can you tell me some general information about those cites?

Luang Prabang is the former capital of Laos and a UNESCO World Heritage city. Luang Prabang is a wonderful patchwork of traditional Lao wooden houses and hints of European architecture - reminders of when Laos was part of the French colony of Indochine. Hanoi, in the other hand, is the capital of Vietnam and fascinating blend of East and West, with Chinese influence from centuries of dominance, and French design from its colonial past. Best months for visiting both cities are June and October. Bring your digital camera, because there are a lot of things to shoot!
