Howdy, guys. My crew and I will go to Amsterdam in three weeks. We havent booked any organized tour. We are young and we would like to explore the city on our own. We would like to know something about getting around Amsterdam. This information would be very useful for us. We will appreciate your advices.

Hi, there. You dont need to worry because Amsterdam has very developed transportation. You can even call the national public transport telephone and you will receive the information about reaching any part of Netherlands. Trams are very popular in the city. You can buy tram ticket everywhere onboard, in the supermarkets, tobacco shops, from GVB sales point, etc. You can use buses and unlike trams, they run during the night for each hour. You can also consider metro or taxi. Taxis are expensive, but since Amsterdam isnt a big city, it wont cost you much. Nevertheless, the most agreeable way to get around Amsterdam is by bicycle. The bike lanes are very developed there. You can hire a bike, but when leaving, lock it up good. This city is heaven for bike thieves. Safe trip!
