Getting a cab in Cairo?

Howdy, folks. Ill be in Cairo next week. I havent booked an organized group, but I plan to do sightseeing in Cairo on my own. I think that Ill have to take lots of taxis. I havent yet been to Egypt, so I dont know how taxi service works there. Can someone tell me its own experience?

I say you are an adventurous type of woman. I think I wouldnt feel safe being alone in Cairo. I would need a man next to me. Taxi drivers are pretty wild in Cairo. Often, they dont put taximeter on. Sometimes getting off the cab can be a problem. The vehicles are in poor condition. The government announces new rules and new way of paying for taxi services. I dont know when this will happen, but I know that many taxi drivers are worried. They think theyll get out of the job and will have fewer customers. I advise you to be careful when stepping into a cab. It can be dangerous.
