From Avignon to Barcelona?

We are traveling to Avignon the first week of September. Since we would like to visit both France and Spain during our vacation, we would like to go from Avignon to Barcelona. The reason we spend our summer vacation traveling to different places instead of lying on the beach is that I am pregnant. How can we get from Avignon to Barcelona? Can we get on the train?

You can get on the train, but the trip is rather long, maybe up to six hours and there is not a direct train from Avignon to Barcelona. You would have to change the train at least twice. Since you are pregnant, I'm not sure if that would be a good idea. Maybe you should try to reach Nimes and start out on a journey from Nimes. The best way, however, would be to make your trip by plane, but there are, unfortunately, no direct flights from Avignon to Barcelona either. Maybe you should go to Marseille and catch a flight to Barcelona. First, you have to check the airlines on the Barcelona airport website.
