Hello. Im a European girl, very interested in countries of South America. One of the most mysterious for me is Peru. I would like to visit this country. I believe that its cultural and historical heritage is very rich. Its music seems to bee very interesting, too. I like their clothes because theyre so colorful. But, I don t know anything about their food. Can you tell me something more about Peru and its cuisine?

Peru is a middle size country in the western of South America whose capital is Lima. In Peru you can visit the mountains like the Andes and Cordillera with the really high tops (more than 6000 meters.). You can visit the beautiful coast of the Pacific Ocean, as well as Lake Titicaca. World famous ancient town of Inca Machu Picchu is near town Kusco. There is a long cultural tradition. The Inca Kingdom was established in 13th century. The Spanish conquerors came there in 16th century, so you can imagine mix of these two civilizations. The population mainly consists of the Indians. The food is very spicy. Potatoes, corn and paprika are the most popular. Very often they prepare cevishe (mix of mussels, onion and lemon).Very specific are the tea made from coca (mate de coca) and brandy Pisco.
