Hello, there. I intend a little trip in S.Africa. Since Ill be spending some time there, I am thinking of renting a car there. I have a US drivers license, but Ive heard that Ill need International Drivers License to drive there. Is true? Will I need it in order to be able to drive in S.Africa?
Howdy. Where have you heard that? I was in South Africa last year and I didnt need any International Drivers License. I had my US Drivers License. It was valid. It had a photo and was in English. I think it is important to be in English or other letter that isnt Cyrillic or Arabic. The thing that was weird is that they drive on the right side of the road. It wasnt like we drive in USA. But, youll get used to that. I wish you a safe drive in S. Africa. Bye!
