Do you need Chinese visa for less than a week visit?

I am going to China on a business trip, that is if everything goes according to plan, next month. I am planning to be there for only four days after which I will head on to Malaysia. I am a UK citizen. Now my question is whether I will need a visa for such a short trip? Thanks for your comments.

I am afraid so, mate. Just that you are British doesn't mean you are able to get a free ticket anywhere, and China is still one of those places that has strict visa rules - for everyone! Even more so for those on business trips. You will need to provide an invitation letter from a Chinese business and everything!
