Do we need tourist guide in Chitwan?

During our stay in Nepal which will last two weeks we are also hoping to visit Chitwan. I am wondering how big the area is. Can we explore it all by ourselves or would we be much better off with a tourist guide in Chitwan? I am looking forward to your comments if you have any experience of the area.

Chitwan National Park is huge, and you would definitely greatly benefit from having a guide there. In the case you opt to go on your own, I can almost guarantee you that you will get awfully lost at some point or another. So if you do fancy the idea of that, take enough food and drink with you!
