Last month my company went bankrupt and I lost my job. I want to push my luck in London as a cab driver. Before I get all the necessary licenses and pass all the necessary exams, Ill try to find a job at a restaurant. Since my incomes will be pretty modest, tell me where to find decent but cheap apartments in London.

As I can se, youre a very efficient and capable person and there will be no problem for you in London if youre willing to work hard. London is a very expensive city and renting an apartment there is a very complicated task, because its hard to find a decent place to live in under a certain, pretty high amount of money. On the other hand, temporary stay at some B&B facility or at a youth hostel is also not an economical option, especially in your position. My suggestion is to find accommodation in a private house, that is, to rent only a room, with one or two meals a day. That option will cost significantly less than all the other considered.
