Im from the United States and I know that our citizens have a privileged status when it comes to visas, in many countries. Im traveling to South Africa with my family and well have to stay there for several months because of my business. Do we need visas or we can get them at the airport when we arrive in South Africa?

Yes, thats true that Americans dont have to undergo bureaucratic complications when traveling abroad. I think that the same goes for South Africa, but with the exception that you can enter without a visa if youre staying for, I guess, three months (correct me if Im wrong). So, if youre going to stay for more than three months, youll have to get visas. But, still its not such a nuisance and complication comparing to what citizens from some other countries have to put up with when trying to travel abroad, for example, waiting for hours in front of embassies and thorough interviews. American passport guarantees that you can go everywhere without any problems.
