Hey this will be my first trip to one ex-Yugoslavian country, and imagine I am planning to tour two of them, Croatia and Slovenia. Ok I already confessed first time in this part of the Europe so I for sure need some help here to plan the trip. Duration of the trip 2 weeks, destinations that I for sure would like to see are Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Ljubljana. I am not even sure where could I find a room for stay so suggest anything that you think that would be useful for me to know.

I am not sure if you should take some of the organized tours or do this on your own. When it comes to accommodation as far as I know there is loads of people who are renting flats or houses in this area, and sometimes it can much more affordable then booking a room in a hotel. You could start from Slovenia because I somehow found it slower with less attractions then Croatia. Not trying to put this country down but it is smaller one so it is expectable comment. Still in Ljubljana you could see citys medieval castle, City Hall, the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and Triple Bridge and next day take a trip to the island of Bled, enjoy the landscapes of the Julian Alps and never miss to see Lake Bohinj. Third day is meant for Predjana Castle, largest cave in Europe called Postojna. The same day you could cross the border and reach a costal town of Kvarner gulf in the western Croatia Opatija. Next stops in your Croatian tour should be Zadar, Split, Trogir, Dubrovnik and Zagreb. There are a lot of attractions which are waiting for you to be seen in these towns that I have mentioned previously, but I decided to cut a long story short and just count them here. And we didnt even talk about the islands in Croatia and sea and beaches in this country are just splendid.
