This summer, after my final exams, I want to give myself a treat and travel to France. Ever since I watched Taxi, my great wish has been to see Marseille, because it really looks stunning throughout the movie. But, as a student I have very modest incomes, so I can afford only cheap accommodation. It would be great if you could help me find budget hostels in Marseille.

Yes, Marseille is one of the gems of the French Riviera, and its famous both for its historical and cultural heritage as well as for being an attractive vacation resort. So, youre in for breathtaking sights, historical monuments and, of course, the Opra, not to mention Marseilles colorful population which makes it a real melting pot. You can find a decent room for about 30USD per night, and book it online by paying a certain deposit. I think there are sites where you can read descriptions of particular hostels and take a look at room photos, so you can be sure what to expect for the amount of money you have. Another option is to stay at one of B&Bs, which are usually decent, clean and cosy.
