Best beach resort in Australia?

I have a friend who lives in Australia and he invited me to visit him next month. Im thrilled about it, because Australia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It would be great if I could move there. Since hes working, Ill be on my own sometimes and Id like you to tell me what is the best beach resort in Australia.

This question is not as simple as it may seem. Australia has many wonderful beaches and it depends on what you like. What Im going to say might sound corny but in my opinion the best beach in Australia is Bondi Beach near Sydney. But I have to explain that Im not a lover of isolated tropical resort. I prefer the beaches near urban settings. Thats why Bondi is perfect. There are many activities that you can participate in, apart from sunbathing. Beach volleyball is one of them. Its a great sport and courts are great at Bondi since they were used for Summer Olympics in Sydney. You can also surf without being worried since there is an underwater shark net as well as the best lifeguard crew in the world.
