Beaches and swimming in Mazatlan?

Hello, I am planning a vacation with my sister and her friends to the Mexican state of Sinaloa and we will be probably staying at Mazatlan. Which beaches are the best for swimming and having a great fun there? Are there a lot of water sports, beach bars etc? Thanks for the answers!

Playa Sabalo is probably the best beach in Mazatlan. It is located on the Sabalo traffic circle, but behind the marina there is lot more beaches that stretches all the way to the Los Cerritos. Anyway, I would not advise that you go to Playa Oltas Altas, cause it’s not for swimming (but gives a nice, rocky scenery!)
