Are beaches far from Nouakchott?

Hello
a couple of friends of mine and I have been planning a trip to Nouakchott and we were wondering is it possible to go to a beach from Nouakchott. I mean, are the beaches far from the city. Thanks a lot in advance for your help. We would really appreciate it. bye

Hello,
some friends of mine and I have visited Mauritania last year and we had a great time there. Nouakchott is a great and beautiful city located almost on the most easter coast of the country, so no, beaches are not far from the city. You can get there really fast. Have a nice time there!

Hi,
that is not quite true, actually. Nouakchott has even its own beaches, one of them is devoted to fishing boats where you can buy a fresh fish, It is really interesting beach and there are several more that you will like. Have a nice stay and come back to talk us all about it.
