Hi! We are considering going on an Antarctic cruise very seriously. While I don't like cold weather myself, I am sure that the scenery and wildlife would more than make up for it. I have now come across a company that operates two former icebreakers, which have been converted - Akademik Ioffe and Vavilov. I am looking for more information. Have you been on either of these ships and what did you think?

Whether going on either of these ships is right for you largely depends on what it is, that you are hoping to get out of the trip. If what you are after is great views, while discovering the facts about the area and learning as much s you want from the very experienced, scientific staff, then you for it. If you want luxury and a traditional cruise experience, look further afield.
