I guess I am a bit tired of all those regular vacations with hotel, beach and a nightclub. This year I have been thinking of seeing something really new for me, and I thought of Alcatraz. I guess there are a lot of questions I need answer for concerning this place, but I guess I have to find out first some hotel for staying there.

I think that question is fairly easy; you can stay at whatever hotel you choose in San Francisco. You just need some pointers for Alcatraz Tour, which occurs every day. You have to use MUNI, Municipal Railway buses, which can take you three blocks away from Pier 33, from where the tour starts. Or you can simply take a cab.
